Oh I forgot to draw that line a bit further :P The wing is supposed to fold upwards (about 135 degrees) so that it takes less space in hangar.

Ah, for all that they launch fighters from ships in SW, you rarely see any of the space-saving innovations used on carrier-based craft in our own navies.

Yeah I guess it was because animating wings on physical models would mean a lot more work. New trilogy and Clone Wars' ships feature a lot more freedom in that part.
