This is a perfect example of sci-fi imagery; it has the feel of the future, sophisication, grace, minimalism, efficiency, and enhanced technology earned through years of learning. This ship has less which makes it more; the drive is minimally done but with maximum effect telling us this is futuristic; the speed blur is perfect, the wisps of air are tiny joys, the smooth details are excellent, the glare of the drive is unusual which attracts the eye. The design we have seen in many sci-fi films but yet is its own image; this is a really beautiful example of sci-fi art - great sci-fi art does many things but first and foremost should convey something we understand but is not from now or the past; a possibility of things to come - and this picture does it for me. Well done!

This is truly amazing, because I drew nearly the exact same configuration using my Autocad software.

Great minds, I guess.

Thanks :) It is a pretty universal design so I wouldn't be surprised if something similar was already made.

My shuttle craft that I am currently working on, the ISS Endeavor, inspired because of this project.  I'd like to personally thank you, it's a fantastic design and I absolutely love it.  It is a great representation of what the future of humanity could look like...

Here is my project concept below if you're interested:

Yeah it was a simple design, but one of the few that just came naturally and didn't require much thinking :)

Note to self; don't post before coffee. So, where it was suppose to go:

It's a very cool picture (somehow even I missed it so far ) and I would say, sure, why shouldn't it fly? You even added the little angled end to the wings that allows current air liners to fly without mile long wing spans </exageration>.

Plus, if I see that right, it has a row of windows on the top. I would totally fly in that thing!

That's good :D I didn't put much thought into the design but I see no reason for it to fly if a new kind of engine was developed and a computer controlled it - even the B2 bomber has a completely flat surface ... hell, there was a german bomber made in WW2 that was a flying wing ... As for windows, I don't know how people see them - they're blurred and the lines represent both windows (which are 3 meters long) and seats (which are 2 meters apart).

Well, computers control aircraft now as it is. Most pilots of airliners have said that they could have the thing land itself if they wanted. So... we're already there.

As for how the windows are visible? I guess that's a combination of imagination and BrainOS assembling the rest. ;)

Yep, we even have computers leading spaceships down to Earth so I guess it's all pretty accurate.
I don't really know how they see the windows but it's not working for sure :D Ah well, let them have fun :P

Brilliant design! What I admire most is your ability for choosing both the right shape and the ideal colour scheme. and, yes, Colourbrand is absolutely right :)

Thanks :D I gotta say that this was one of the most basic designs but doing the shapes and choosing right details was more problematic than in more "chaotic" and complex ships.

Do you work with any specific dimensions when designing? Length, width, etc or is it just inspiration?

Actually no, I just design everything as I go unless I have set dimensions to work with.

This kind design was thought by many but few turned out interesting, there are not many edges and the render does it all, a line art of this thing won't look awesome but the render does it all. I like how you managed to make this look Non-NASA. Is the back ground a 2D image?

Thanks :) Even if I posted orthographic shots, it would surely look like a generic ship. Background is a simple motion-blurred sky picture.

The engine design made it unique, if you used a common design of round or poly exhaust it will look generic. It has a very Trek look with the glowing but none propellant engine, it fit in with the wrap drives.
