Thanks. That cockpit was the most important part of this scene :)

Yeah I know that feeling :D I will do an animation soon, imitating a game so it will be even closer :)

Awesome work! Something about it makes me feel like I'm actually there in the cockpit. :D

Glad to hear that! I added some slight overlay of a helmet-based HUD and a bit of the helmet itself so hopefully that makes for a better mood :D

:D

I also just noticed the CMD is displaying the map style from TIE Fighter, with the little balls on sticks representing starships above and below an arbitrary plane.

Damn someone caught that :D Indeed it's that map display - I think it's one of the features for Star Wars simulators. It will be interesting to do in animation and I hope for the cockpit displays to be the more interesting parts of the video.

Excellent job capturing the feel of a full-on space battle. The vibrance and illusions of motion almost make this feel alive. Very well done!

Thanks a lot :D It took me quite some time on getting the "feel" of the image right, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. I will try to do more of these with different settings and in the end render a short animation of a battle :)

Quality! Love the perspective too - I actually feel like a pilot there! I can feel myself in the seat at the controls!!!

All looks great here - and no clutter!!!

Thanks a lot :D I had a lot of doubts with this one - changing colors of the background, overlaying different colors on the image, using different displays etc. but in the end I think it's pretty much how I would like the game to turn out. If I was a fea years younger I would probably mess around in a simple 3D game maker program just to make a level where you fly this thing around :P

It turned out great! And yes, I do the same. The final color balance is always the most time consuming part.

And yes again. Game modding; that's a thing of the past by now. I even remember building levels for the original Duke Nukem 3D. MS-DOS level editor... most people nowadays (generation-Y - I call it that due to their ass cracks showing with silly fashion) don't even know what MS-DOS was. So yeah, we'll soon be having our keyboard taped to a Zimmerframe... :O_o:

Hahahaha nice idea with the Y :D
Even I remember altering my games - NFS 3 was probably the first one. I wasn't much of a modeler back then but I downloaded some parts and liked the level creators found in games (had tons of fun in USAF level editor). MS-DOS was good because it actually gave way for tons of amazing games. I wish Lucasarts re-realeased the TIE/X-wing games or did something (releasing the code perhaps, I don't know really :P) to give people a way of customizing the game and modding it - it probably would never die.

Well, programming was never my thing. I used to do some Basic, Pascal and C and job related still have to do batch scripts to this day, but anything else... naa. PHP/Perl/Java perhaps a little for web based stuff, but it certainly isn't first on my list so to speak.
